Photo Sterilizing Silicone Implants

Most medical-grade silicone implants are sterilized using gamma radiation and e-beam devices. Yet their high energies can actually change or damage the material. Applied Photo Mechanics-based devices can sterilize implants quickly and effectively. Only the targeted substances are destroyed; the material is unaffected. Our technology can be used in implantable device manufacturing and packaging—or in pre-op—to sterilize an implant just prior to insertion.
